Atlantis Vintage Tokyo Koenji

Atlantis Vintage Tokyo Koenji

c. 1980 – 2020Bags

“Koenji's archival Chanel and Louis Vuitton bag room; ask Yuji for what is in the back.”

The flagship of a small group with branches in Ginza and Hiroo, open since the early 2000s, and a different animal from the Americana around it. A compact room packed with archival Chanel and Louis Vuitton, plus Hermès, with some clothing and jewellery.

The owner, Yuji Jitsutani, is the reason to come. He explains the history of a bag, what to check on it, and brings new arrivals out from the back if you ask. Condition is high and reviewers rate the price against quality well above the bigger shops down the street. Every piece is sold as authentic. Open 11 to 7, earlier closing than the rest of Koenji.

Brand collections

  1. 1990s
  2. Archival flap bags are the house speciality; check the quilting alignment, the chain weight and the serial sticker.

  3. Monogram canvas from the archive years; the vachetta patina and date codes tell you how it was kept.

  4. In the mix according to Harper's Bazaar; ask for the blind stamp year and look at the stitching, all saddle-stitched by hand.
