CARBOOTS Daikanyama
“French and British imports, flea-market priced: Loewe fur totes, Rive Gauche knits, moleskin workwear.”
A few steps down off Hachiman-dori, a shop the owners stock by buying direct in France and Britain: European clothing from the 19th century to the 80s, house archive pieces, French workwear, antique lace and buttons. The designer pieces are priced like flea-market finds. Recent listings: a Loewe astrakhan fur tote at ¥29,800, a 90s Rive Gauche knit at ¥23,950, Courrèges gold-tone necklaces under ¥10,000. French moleskin work pants, dense cotton built to last, around ¥15,000.
Pieces go online first and hit the floor the next day, and stock turns fast. Closed Thursdays; Sundays from 14:00. Ask for the stamp card.
Brand collections
- 1970s

Logo and fish-motif gold-tone necklaces under ¥10,000, the cheapest space-age French you'll find.

70s Trotter canvas pouches with metal clasps, about ¥21,000.
- 1980s

Old Spanish-house leather and fur, like a lambskin-backed astrakhan tote at ¥29,800, long before the Anagram craze.
