MAISON DE VII Daikanyama

MAISON DE VII Daikanyama

c. 1980 – 2020Jewellery

“Chanel and Dior costume jewellery from the 80s to 00s, the best of it under ¥40,000.”

A small ground-floor room on Sarugakucho that reads like one very good wardrobe: Chanel and Dior first, then Fendi, Hermès, Versace and Sonia Rykiel. Jewellery is the deep end. Gripoix poured-glass earrings, turnlock necklaces, 80s CD-logo chains in heavy gold plate. Clothing runs to Chanel tweed suits, Dior knits and the odd fur.

Dior costume pieces sit around ¥26,000 to ¥40,000, Chanel earrings ¥60,000 to ¥110,000, flap bags at market rate. Sunglasses are a sleeper: 80s Celine and Chanel frames. Ask about the buy-two-get-one-free rotation and tax-free before you pay.

Brand collections

  1. 1980s
  2. 80s CD-logo necklaces and earrings in solid gold plate at ¥26,000 to ¥40,000, the most honest-priced thing in the room.

  3. Look in the sunglasses case: shoppers report 80s Celine frames, the old Macadam-era house before the Philo reboot.

  4. 1990s
  5. A third of the stock: hunt the Gripoix poured-glass earrings and turnlock necklaces, hand-set work Chanel's costume jewellery is famous for.

  6. Zucca canvas pieces, from trunks to the Bussola watch, plus the occasional fur jacket from the house that built itself on fur.

  7. Few but serious: Vespa and Picotin bags, a Kelly 32, and Sellier leather earrings for the entry ticket.

  8. Medusa chain belts and 90s gold hardware, the era the shop's own blog says is back.
